I’m Flaky! I am an autistic blue jay from the United Kingdom, who does programming - mainly Python - in his spare time.

I am very interested in music, with a current fixation on the Eurovision Song Contest. My music tastes lean melodic and atmospheric, and though I do have a bias towards dance music I’ll give anything a try. I have recently been getting into death and black metal.

My projects mainly revolve around the metadata of music, including the Rate Your Music Hierarchy Template for MusicBee, which brings RYM’s genre and scenes hierarchy to MusicBee (a music library player/organiser for Windows), and Submit Folksonomy Tags, a plugin for MusicBrainz’s Picard tag editor that lets you submit tags to the database from the tag editor itself.

    Finally getting my site set up! Been meaning to do it for a while but now it’s official.

    I plan to use this to ramble on about stuff, mainly tech things I’m doing. I ramble enough on fedi but I find microblogging platforms like Bluesky and Mastodon, et al. to be too ephemeral for that so that was a motivation for making this.

    I’m also using this as a way to try out Hugo, a static site generator written in Go. I’m not sure I’ll stick with this theme at the moment, but I considered it the best. I might have a go at making my own Hugo theme in the future. Can’t promise it though.
